Second largest CtoC platform on the French market behind eBay but ahead of 2xMoinsCher.com, PriceMinister has decided to innovate by creating the first “user generated hotline“.
Thanks to a partnership with Wengo, a Neuf Cegetel subsidiary offering a softphone competing with Skype, PriceMinister invites some of its members to become “advisers”, helping buyers and sellers on specific topics.
“This new application will strengthen the ability of our members to share their experience. By becoming PriceMinister advisers, they will also get an extra income, by selling their experience,” explains Pierre Kosciusko-Morizet, PriceMinister CEO and co-founder.
Working from a 6 million member base, PriceMinister already claims to have more than 650 consultants, charging for their advice from €0,15 per minutes to €2,99 per call. Is this the price of serenity ?

Unfortunate that Wengo allowed an accounting software glitch to interrupt service for a week to ten days on many users paid up accounts in early November causing a lot of anger and frustration adn making me, a customer, wonder if as a company they know what they’re doing at all.
Wengo handled the crisis very poorly. Further, and ironically, the only support possible is a paid hotline. Wengo had abandoned their vanilla phpBB2 support forum until is was full of irate users posting about their service interruption.
Wengo will need to do a lot before I’ll allow them into my home again.
